Annelise has a very engaging and ‘easy-to-follow’ style of teaching and actively encourages discussions
Student evaluation
Students learn best when they are engaged in the classroom. My teaching style is engaging and interactive. I build my classes on state-of-the-art research, complemented by real-life business examples and adapted to my audiences.
Award-winning university professor
I am an Associate professor at the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH) in Bergen, Norway.
I have taught several audiences, children, high school and Executives. The last 12 years, I have taught at university level, and I have designed several courses at NHH. I have been a guest speaker in several courses and programs at NHH, NHH Executive and the University of Bergen. I have also held interventions at the University of Ghent and the University of Newcastle.
I believe students learn best when they are engaged in the classroom. My teaching style is engaging and interactive. I use student-centered, innovative, and proven effective methods in class, such as Team-Based-Learning and Flipped classroom. I use business case studies, experiential learning, simulations and reflection logs to foster student engagement and learning in the classroom.
In 2021, I was awarded the status of Excellent teacher practitioner at NHH.
Her practice is textbook examples of excellent and modern student-focussed teaching practice.
Excellent teacher practitioner assessment committee
To develop my teaching methods, I have been inspired by colleagues and I have been fortunate to have students who provide continuous, constructive feedback. I have also attended several pedagogical courses to develop my teaching skills, among others at Harvard Business School.
My courses receive excellent teaching evaluations. Students often describe my classes as “engaging”, “eye-opening”, and helping them understand the complexities of intercultural interactions and of their own biases.
This course taught me more than I would have imagined.
student evaluation
During the COVID-19 pandemic, I have used strategies to keep the class atmosphere and interactivity among students. These strategies have been highly appreciated by my students.
Annelise has successfully created a nice atmosphere on Zoom, where we students have actually got to know each other without meeting physically. All teachers should be standing in a row and get tips on how she managed this.

What I’ve learned outweighed my expectations. I really liked the breakout room activities but also the feeling of freedom and understanding during the course. I also felt much more included in the class than during comparable courses previously. The most important learning outcome from today is in my opinion realizing that online lectures can be even more effective than casual classes.
